This installer will take either an older installation or a steam installation of Blue Shift, convert it into a Half-Life mod running the most recent version, update it to fix bugs, and restore the proper HUD. Some enterprising fans took it upon themselves to fix the game.

rar file and drop them into your Steam/Steamapps//opposing force/gearbox/media/ folder and you’ll be good to go.īlue Shift: Unlocked – The release of Blue Shift on steam is a bit of a mess: it uses the wrong version of the game, the HUD is the wrong color and it’s a bit buggy. You can get the original soundtrack here. Original Opposing Force Music – The Steam release of Op4 doesn’t have the original music for the game, instead using the regular Half-Life soundtrack.

Go to this steam page to find out how to activate it. High Definition Pack – When Half-Life: Blue Shift came out, it included a “high definition” model pack which was eventually ported to steam. Here's some extra stuff you might want to use in that case. If you want to wander around Black Mesa some more though, then you should get the original version since Opposing Force, Blue Shift and decay all run on that version. If not, HL: Source will serve you well enough as means to getting more directly to HL2. My personal stance is depends on if you want to play through the expansions. No classic mod support or in-steam HD packs Audio gets cut off during level transitions, which will often result in a music track playing right before a level transition. Occasionally, scripted sequences don't work the way they're supposed to because enemies snap out of scripted routines too quickly. Changes some audio (which probably only bugs a purist like me) +Had better AI pathing (Allies don't get stuck on scenery remotely as much) Has some weird bugs that pop up (like getting stuck in place for a half-second, about a second after every level load) +Works with the HD pack available on Steam The biggest differences between Half-Life and Half-Life: Source are No pictures because I realize I would have to edit them and I suck too much as any kind of visual editing to do that. Even you are a giant Half-Life geek like me, you'll probably find $20 worth of value out of him (the asking price).

If you can get him for $15, I'd say he's a good buy. Overall, I wish I could put him in a few more awesome poses, but as is he's pretty neat. He also comes with a Headcrab, which has a fanstastic sculpt, but no articulation, and despite having a bigass body cavity, will not fit out Gordon's head. Would have rather had a pistol or something instead of the bugbait, but whatever. Gordon comes with two sets of hands (One right hand for holding the crowbar or a pistol, one openfaced left hand that can hold the included bugbait and a pair of hands for holding the gravity gun) As mentioned, he comes with a bugbait, a crowbar and a gravity gun. Sculpt is fantastic, and his glasses (which don't come off) are made of clear plastic which looks pretty good. Lower body articulation kinda sucks as there's no way to have Gordon kneel or anything (joints aren't there, and those that are, are again hampered by the armor.) Articulation upper body articulation is pretty good, though the armor get's in the way of the arm's mobolity. So, it's a decent display piece, but like most of NECA's stuff, it's not really meant for much playing with. action figure is here!Īt first I was kinda pissed because I thought his upper body (which is on a rotating joint) was misaligned, making his upper chest not line up with his body but it turns out the upper chest is on a ball joint, so it's all good.
